The ACO was active from 1979 to 1985 as a student and semi-professional orchestra that consisted of musicians from the NYO, RAM, and the City of London School.
Besides the Journal of Orgonomy, the ACO publishes books of orgonomic interest including Baker’s Man In the Trap, Me and the Orgone by Orson Bean and recently also Wilhelm Reich and Orgonomy by Ola Raknes.
Plans for a new endurance championship were initially conceived by Don Panoz and backed by the ACO in 2000 with plans for an Asian-Pacific Le Mans Series, modeled after his American Le Mans Series and planned European Le Mans Series for 2001.

Later in 1999 the R391 would race again, this time at the invitational Fuji 1000km event which was backed by the Le Mans ruling body, the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO).
