In 1999, the famous French climber Alain Robert climbed the Marriott Hotel without protection or permission.

Alain Robert, the famous "French Spider-Man", scaled the building to the 44th floor in 1997, two years after the back-lit Blue Cross logo was added to the building's pediment.

Luxor Obelisk

Without warning, in 1998 and 2000 French urban climber Alain "Spiderman" Robert, using only his bare hands and climbing shoes on his feet and with no safety devices, scaled the obelisk all the way to the top.

Tun Mustapha Tower

In 1997, urban climber Alain Robert successfully scaled the building, with government approval, for a fundraiser.
