Paschen received 4.54% of the vote and finished fifth out of sixth place, losing to Barrie Chivers a candidate for the New Democrats.

Terry Kirkland

Kirkland attempted to win a seat in the Edmonton Highlands by-election held on June 12, 2000 but was defeated by NDP leader Brian Mason.


Dunvegan-Central Peace-Notley

The change in name came from a write in campaign from Alberta New Democratic Party members who wanted to tack on Notley after their former leader Grant Notley onto the electoral district name because he was an MLA for Spirit River-Fairview an old electoral district that existed in the area.

He defeated incumbent New Democrat Jim Gurnett in a hotly contested two-way race to win the reconstituted riding of Dunvegan for the Progressive Conservatives.

Milt Pahl

Pahl ran for a third term in office in the 1986 Alberta general election but was defeated in a closely contested election by Gerry Gibeault a candidate for the New Democrats.
