Alliance Rubber Company is a US manufacturer of rubber bands, founded by William H. Spencer in 1923 in Alliance, Ohio.
The name 'Alliance' was chosen by resident Tom Edwards, who named the community after his home city in the United States, Alliance, Ohio.
He fought in Civil War, and after he returned home in 1865 he attended Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio and then at Eclectic Medical Institute of Cincinnati, where he graduated in 1869.
