A part of his valuable United States collection was bequeathed to the Smithsonian Institution’s National Postal Museum in Washington, D.C. Ackerman was named to the American Philatelic Society Hall of Fame in 2000.
Clary was awarded the Luff Award for Outstanding Service to the Society in 1964, and, in 1997, he was named to the American Philatelic Society Hall of Fame.
For his efforts in establishing the hobby of stamp collecting, Barnum was named to the American Philatelic Society Hall of Fame in 1942.
