It is the main commercial, industrial and agricultural centre of the Marsica area, with high-tech industries such as a LFoundry GmbH semi-conductor plant, and a large Telespazio satellite farm.

Woodberry also houses the facilities for four of Baltimore's commercial television stations, and because of its altitude, it also is the site of two large broadcasting masts.

WDLM-FM's studio is located on E200th Street in rural Henry County, Illinois just outside of Coal Valley, co-located with sister station WDLM-AM and its transmitter is located across the Mississippi River at the Bettendorf antenna farm in Bettendorf, Iowa, near the Scott Community College campus, and adjacent to several FM, TV, and DTV transmitters.
