De Klerk joined Toronto FC on January 6, 2011 as First Assistant Coach along with former Ajax colleague Aron Winter who became Head Coach/Technical Director.
With new management put in place during the off season-Aron Winter as head coach and Bob de Klerk as assistant-Dichio moved within the club and was named head coach of the TFC Academy U-18 team.
On February 22, 2011 it was announced that Bent would become assistant coach to the Toronto FC first team joining newly appointed manager Aron Winter and first assistant Bob de Klerk.
