After Arsène Lupin III's disappearance in the world, people have began imitating Lupin's appearance and personality in an attempt to become the "real Lupin".
Lupin has set his sights on the national treasure of the country of Zufu, placed for safe-keeping on a mysterious floating island by the country's late king.
He is usually dressed in a blue leisure suit, with a yellow shirt and boots similar to those worn by Arsène Lupin III.
It is also the first Lupin animation to not feature Yasuo Yamada (due to a tight budget) as Arsène Lupin III, who is instead voiced by Toshio Furukawa, and the only one to not feature Kiyoshi Kobayashi as Daisuke Jigen.
