David played his final match for England on 8 June 1985 at Athletic Park, Wellington in the New Zealand vs England 2nd Test on that tour.
He promptly moved them from East Vancouver back to Athletic Park on the South Granville Slope.
Athletic Park hosted the final up to the 1999 decider, and since then Westpac Stadium has been the preferred venue, though some finals have been held at the Basin Reserve, with the 2011 game held at the Petone Recreation Ground.
