The success of this movie basked the producer A. V. Chettiar to remade it in Hindi as Ladki with Kishore Kumar and Bharat Bhushan in S. Balachander and Gemini Ganesan role respectively which becomes second highest grossing film of 1953 with verdict hit.
Encouraged by the success of his comedy movie Sabapathy, Avichi Meiyappa Chettiar wanted to make another film of the same genre.
