There are three major centres of Orthodoxy in the Philippines: Sucat, Parañaque in Metro Manila; around Los Baños; and in Bajada, Cataingan, Masbate.

During the close season Sliema Wanderers signed Clayton Failla and Ryan Fenech, leaving Bajada’s first team opportunities limited, he decided to join Marsaxlokk on a season long loan, his new club were due to start this season in the Maltese Premier League, however following a guilty verdict on corruption case from the previous season, Marsaxlokk were demoted to the Maltese First Division.
The saguaro cactus (Carnegiea gigantea) and the ocotillo (Fouquieria splendens) are common on the bajadas, while many of the desert trees found are restricted to dry watercourses; these include paloverde (Parkinsonia), the desert willow (Chilopsis linearis), desert ironwood (Olneya tesota), and smoke trees (Psorothamnus spinosus).
