In 1945 Bomberg began to teach evening Art classes at the Borough Polytechnic (now London South Bank University) until 1954 when he taught at the Bartlett School of Architecture.
As a professor, Banham taught at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London in the University of London, the State University of New York (SUNY) Buffalo, and through the 1980s at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
He has held teaching positions at many institutions including Columbia University, Harvard University, Yale University, the Berlage Institute in the Netherlands and the Bartlett School of Architecture in London.
