In February 2012, the Bath People's Assembly launched a petition to Bath and North East Somerset Council calling for them to switch their bank account from NatWest to an ethical bank, as part of the wider Move Your Money campaign.
Nowadays it is designated as a 'Nature Conservation Site' by Bath and North East Somerset council, its owners.
In 2007 a programme of reconstruction and restoration was undertaken by Bath and North East Somerset Council and supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Bath and North East Somerset council own the buildings, and, as decreed in a Royal Charter of 1590, are the guardians of the spring waters, which are the only naturally hot, mineral-rich waters in the UK.

The other briefly enters Bath and North East Somerset, then enters a shallow valley, passing underneath Saltwell Viaduct, which carries the A37 Wells Road.
