This song is based on a sample of Yellow Magic Orchestra's 1980 track "Behind the Mask", later covered by session keyboardist Greg Phillinganes in 1984 and again by Eric Clapton in 1986, and once again by Michael Jackson for his 2010 album "Michael".

He has also created documentaries about Ralph Vaughan Williams (The Passions of Vaughan Williams, 2008), Edward Elgar (The Man Behind the Mask, 2010) and Hubert Parry (The Prince and the Composer, 2011), the latter a collaboration with Charles, Prince of Wales, whom he had earlier profiled in Charles at 60: The Passionate Prince.
"Ash" was also featured on the sampler Behind the Mask, Vol. 2 and a re-recording later became a B-side on the "Myaku" single.
In 1994, he started a chain of hockey equipment shops in the Phoenix, Arizona area called "Behind the Mask".
