On May 2, 2008 it was announced that the team had been purchased by William T. Kelsey and Eric Zimmerman and that Phil Giebler would return to the team to drive its entry in the 2008 Indianapolis 500.

Abalos is the second eldest of the five children of Benjamin S. Abalos, Sr., and Corazon de Castro.

Colonel Benjamin S. Ewell, leader of the 32nd Virginia Infantry had been trained as a civil engineer at the United States Military Academy at West Point and most recently serving as the President of the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg.
Kelsey was born to Eber and Lucy Ann Leete Kelsey in Port Leyden, New York, where he was locally educated.
His brother was Edwin B. Kelsey, who was a lawyer, businessman, and Wisconsin state legislator.
