Listeners to Radio Ceylon enjoyed his 'wakey wakey' style and he introduced the hit songs of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Junior, Bill Haley & His Comets, Cliff Richard and Elvis Presley to audiences in Ceylon and beyond.

During the 1960s, the label signed American rockers Bill Haley & His Comets and the band had numerous regional hits on the label, most notably the partial instrumental "Florida Twist" and the Spanish-language "Twist Espanol".

Reno Browne

In 1951, Bill Haley and His Saddlemen recorded a single called "My Palomino and I"/"My Sweet Little Girl from Nevada" for Cowboy Records (CR 1701) which was released as by "Reno Browne and Her Buckaroos", even though Browne had no connection with the recording (though her photo did appear on the sheet music for the latter song).

With music by Lothar Olias and lyrics by Peter Mösser, the song is an up-tempo number in the style of early rock and roll hits like "Rock Around The Clock" by Bill Haley & His Comets.

The Matys Brothers

On this song and the three others recorded for Clymax, the Matys Brothers were backed by members of Bill Haley's band, The Comets (several of their recordings were also written by members of Haley's group.


Bobby Charles

His compositions include the hits "See You Later, Alligator", which he initially recorded himself as "Later Alligator", but which is best known from the cover version by Bill Haley & His Comets; and "Walking to New Orleans", written for Fats Domino.
