Flash, Staffordshire

The first record of coal mining in the parish comes from 1401 when Thomas Smith took a year's lease on the 'vein coal' of Black Brook, near Upper Hulme.

Lancashire Union Railway

The line had another siding which intersected two of the Heapey reservoirs before serving the Heapey Bleachworks; half of the bridge carrying the line over Higher House Lane to the works is still in situ.


Dalem Lake Provincial Park

Straddling the county line between Victoria and Cape Breton counties, the park is located in the communities of Dalem Lake and New Dominion and is adjacent to the communities of Big Bras d'Or, Millville Boularderie and Black Brook.

The tract covers portions of 13 towns in three counties in the region around Taylor Pond, Silver Lake and Union Falls flow, in the town of Franklin in Franklin County and the town of Black Brook in Clinton County.
