The Irish Channel St. Patrick's Club has done activities, such as block parties, to help fundraise for different charities such as the Special Olympics; the Chrones Benefit Golf Tournament for Chrones Research; The Chefs' Charity of St. Michael's Special School; distribution of Thanksgiving food baskets and active support of The Friends of St. Alphonsus.
These events include the 46th Anniversary Celebration of Jamaican Independence with the Ottawa Rapidz, a Canada Day Block Party downtown and Marley Night event celebrating Black History Month.
Animation Block Party expanded to a four day festival in 2013, including an opening night concert with performances by Adam Green, Hooray for Earth, Tim Harrington, and others, and exclusive animation from Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and Pixar.
