Along with Knopfler and Bob Ludwig, in 2006 he collected the Grammy Award for Best Surround Sound Album for the surround production of the famous Dire Straits album Brothers in Arms.
Ernie and the Automatics' debut album, “Low Expectations”, produced by Brian Maes (mixed by Bob St. John and mastered by Bob Ludwig), was released by Open E Records in February 2009.
