Despite the team having a low print and social media profile in the past, within weeks Layland had made the clubs official Twitter account the most followed in the league and by the end of the season had gained more Facebook 'likes' in 2011/12 than any other club in the league - with only Brisbane Roar having more total likes.
On occasion the venue plays host to National Rugby League trial matches, most recently when the Sydney Roosters played the Jets and Brisbane Roar playing the Ipswich Knights, Western Spirit FC, Ipswich City FC from Brisbane Premier League Division 1 combining into the ipswich invitational side in every Brisbane Roar Pre-Season since 2010.
Brisbane Roar (then Queensland Roar), would be coached by Welshman Jeff Hopkins, who enjoyed stints in England an abroad during his playing days.
On 18 January 2011, it was announced by Brisbane Roar coach Ange Postecoglou on Fox Sports FC that DeVere would be leaving the club on a transfer to South Korean K-League club Gyeongnam FC.
