Whilst with the Tigers, Hutchinson helped them to with the league championship in 1946–47 and 1947–48, and the Autumn Cup in 1946 and 1950.

He went on to play seven seasons in the professional leagues winning the 1998-99 British ice hockey league championship with the Manchester Storm.
In his seven seasons with the Racers, he helped the team to win the league championship in 1986–87 and 1987–88; the Norwich Union Trophy in 1985; and reaching the playoff finals weekend at Wembley Arena every year bar one and winning the playoffs in 1986.
During this season, Norris helped Sheffield win a Grand Slam of all available trophies when they won the Benson & Hedges Cup, the Challenge Cup, the league championship and the playoffs.
