In 1931, he approached the Brown Derby owner Robert H. Cobb and offered to draw caricatures of the famous patrons who dinned at the restaurant.
Chaplin helped Bergman finance a restaurant in Hollywood, named 'Henry's', which became a popular spot for celebrities as a precursor to the later Brown Derby restaurant.
