SS Barossa

The SS Barossa was a 4,239 gross ton cargo ship built by Caledon Shipbuilding & Engineering Company, Dundee for the Adelaide Steamship Company in 1938.


Carquinez Bridge

Built by the Joint Venture consisting of Flatiron Structures (Longmont, Co.), FCI Constructors (Benicia, Ca.), and Cleveland Bridge & Engineering Company of Darlington, England, it consists of the south anchorage, a transition pier, two towers (South and North towers), and the north anchorage.

Queen Elizabeth II Metro Bridge

It was designed by W. A. Fairhurst & Partners, and constructed by Cementation Construction Ltd. and the Cleveland Bridge & Engineering Company at a cost of £4.9 million.

Swan Hunter

Also in 1903 the Company took a controlling interest in the Wallsend Slipway & Engineering Company, which was an early licensed manufacturer of Parsons turbine engines, which enabled the Mauretania to achieve its great speed.
