This project included a full interchange with the planned Southeastern Beltway (opened April 14, 1990), the Dean Road barrier toll, as well as a connection at the east end to the Central Florida Research Park.

The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) of the United States Navy is located in Orlando, Florida in the Central Florida Research Park adjacent to the University of Central Florida (UCF).
NAVHOSP Orlando was transferred to the Veteran's Administration as an outpatient clinic and most of SERVSCOLSCOM Orlando's complex was transferred to the Defense Finance and Accounting Service, while NAWCTSD continues to operate to this day at the separate Naval Support Activity Orlando installation to the east in the Central Florida Research Park.
