He studied at the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London, later teaching lithography there.
He studied at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and Royal College of Art, London, and Kyoto City University of Arts, Kyoto, Japan, and has widely exhibited himself and his large format photographic self-portraits at fine art and performance art venues worldwide.
Alsop was a tutor of sculpture at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London for several years, and has held many other academic posts, among others at the Vienna University of Technology, Universities of London and Hannover, and actively promotes the artistic contribution to built environments.
At 18, he was accepted into the womenswear degree program at London's Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design at the University of the Arts London.
