Air Vice Marshal Rohan J Pathirage, USP, ndc, psc, CEng, MIE, SLAF is the current Director Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
He graduated as a chartered engineer at the Norwegian Institute of Technology (now part of NTNU), with an emphasis on construction and building.
He is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (UK), Fellow of the Institute of Physics (U.K), Fellow of the Institute of Physics, Singapore, and Fellow of Trinity College of Music, London.
(Their courses usually allow a student to leave with a Bachelor's degree after three years, but these shortened degrees are not ECUK-recognised and therefore do not count towards the educational requirements for becoming a chartered engineer.) Other universities, such as the University of Greenwich, University of Surrey and Brunel University, admit students to read for BEng Honours and MEng courses and allow students to change between the two during the early years of the course.
