General Arun Shridhar Vaidya, MVC(Bar), AVSM (27 January 1926 Alibag – 10 August 1986 Pune) was the 13th Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) of the Indian Army.
He was part of the group which filed a PIL in the Supreme Court of India against the appointment of Lt. Gen. Bikram Singh for the post of Chief of Army Staff.
When he was not appointed as the Chief of Army Staff by Indira Gandhi despite his seniority, he chose to sidestep out of the Army on deputation to the Damodar Valley Corporation where he made a definite impact in improving the organisation's working climate, ethos and productivity.
Pran Nath Thapar fifth Chief of Army Staff of the Indian army was his great uncle.
