While studying at the Danish National School of Theatre, Sørensen made her television debut in 2005 in the minor role of a receptionist in The Eagle.

In 2012, he won the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival for his portrayal of King Christian VII in the A Royal Affair, his feature film debut, while still studying at the Danish National School of Theatre and Contemporary Dance.
Peter Gantzler originally studied Danish at the University of Copenhagen, but changed to the Danish National School of Theatre where he got his degree in 1990.
