In 1983 he sold the club due to poor relations with Delaware North, owner of the Boston Garden.
On the island's north western side is a small luxury resort operated by Voyages Hotels & Resorts until November 2009, when the resort was acquired by Delaware North.
After four seasons in the I-AHL, the team was acquired by Louis M. Jacobs, owner of Jacob's Concessions, and relocated to Buffalo, New York to play as the Buffalo Bisons.
