Kindred Spirits: A Tribute to the Songs of Johnny Cash is a tribute album to country singer Johnny Cash, released on Legacy Recordings on September 24, 2002 (see 2002 in music), several days after the previous tribute album to Cash, Dressed in Black.
NECA released three Jareth action figures: a 12 inch one, dressed in black (it can talk, speaking lines from the movie), a 7 inch version of the 12 inch figure, but without the talking, and a 7 inch one, which comes with a figure of Hoggle the dwarf.
Some of the lyrics, such as "We, all, dressed in black" were reused in the Paul's Boutique song "Egg Man".
The act consisted of two comedians, Nathan Datner and Avi Kushnir, dressed in black suits and ties in the style of the Blues Brothers, who performed alone in a talking style presentation, accompanied by a minimalist orchestra score conducted by a similarly attired conductor.
The video features drummer Jack White and lead vocalist Alison Mosshart walking across an open field outside of a suburban neighborhood carrying automatic weapons (AR-15 by Jack White and Heckler & Koch MP5 by Alison Mosshart) and dressed in black leather jackets.
