She got her first big break in 1995, working for Benetton, after which she represented Japan at the global Elite Model Look '95.
She entered the contest and won first place in the Greek Elite Model Look final.She then advanced to the Nice International final, held in September in the French Riviera, where she came in third overall in the Pantene contest.
She's part of Elite Model Chile's agency and she has worked as a model for John Galliano and has posed for the magazines Cosmopolitan and Elle, among others.
Renata Ruiz placed first runner-up in Elite Model Look International 2001.
