After unsuccessful pre-season tryouts with various National Basketball Developmental League teams (Reno Bighorns, Sioux Falls Skyforce,Iowa Energy), Crawford was signed in November by the Coventry Crusaders of the English Basketball League Division 1 team.
Going EBL div 4 in the start of the 2010/11 season they are now competing EBL DIV 3.
At the beginning of the 2006-07 season, after failing to sort out a contract with the Heat, Wellington signed for English Basketball League (second-tier) team Worthing Thunder where he played for two months, before re-signing with the Heat in November 2006.
For the 2006/07 season Troon will also take part in the BBL Cup alongside the professional franchise clubs of the British Basketball League and a select few clubs from the SBL and the English Basketball League.
