Hans-Erich Voss (or Voß, see ß) (30 October 1897 – 18 November 1969) was a German Vice Admiral and one of the final occupants of the Führerbunker during the battle of Berlin in 1945.
Red Army officers and SMERSH agents found Hitler's partially burned corpse near the Führerbunker after his suicide and conducted an investigation to confirm the events of his death and identify the remains which (along with those of Eva Braun) were reportedly secretly buried at SMERSH headquarters in Magdeburg until April 1970, when they were exhumed, completely cremated, and dumped in the Elbe river.
The Reich Chancellery and Führerbunker Complex: An Illustrated History of the Seat of the Nazi Regime by Steven Lehrer recounts the history of a group of Berlin buildings, from their construction in the 18th century until their complete destruction during and after World War II.
