The bob run, which opened in 1904, is still in use and has hosted the FIBT World Championships a record 22 times, most recently in 2013.

Innsbruck hosted its first Bobsleigh World Championships in 1935 in the two-man event, then hosted again in 1963 when the bobsleigh part of the track was used as a test event for the 1964 Games.


Manfred Schumann

Schumann won a complete set of medals at the FIBT World Championships with a gold in 1974 (Four-man), a silver in 1979 (Two-man, despite being replaced by Fritz Ohlwärter after Schumann's injury during the third heat), and a bronze in 1977.

Hollingsworth is the cousin of Ryan Davenport, who won three medals in the men's skeleton event at the FIBT World Championships in the late 1990s.
