Djokaj played for FK Dečić, FK Budućnost Podgorica, FK Mladost Podgorica, Mallorca, Lleida, Obilić, OFK Beograd, Red Star Belgrade, Trabzonspor, Ankaraspor, TuS Koblenz and TSV 1860 München before returning to Montenegro to his former club Budućnost.
Born in Belgrade, SR Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia, during his playing career he played with Red Star Belgrade, FK Obilić, Belgian Club Brugge K.V. and Russian FC Saturn Ramenskoye.
Immediately spotted as a talented youngster he moved on to bigger teams and cities throughout Serbia such as Valjevo's FK Budućnost then played for Vojvodina and Obilić.
He has previously played for FK Obilić and KFK Radnički Kragujevac in Serbia and St. John's University and Stony Brook University (US College soccer) in the USA, as well as for the FK Rad.
In his long and successful career he was the goalkeeper of many clubs like FK Zemun, FK Obilić, Borac Čačak, Standard Liège, Radnički Kragujevac, among others.
