Film colorization - a process that adds color to black and white, sepia or monochrome moving-picture images
A colorized version was created (supervised by Sophie Juin for Les Films Ariane) and issued in 2000 on DVD in Europe alongside the original version.
In 2003, 20th Century Fox and Legend Films revived the (now) public domain film with a colorized special edition of the film, under the title A Christmas Wish.

On April 19, 2005, 20th Century Fox and Legend Films released a colorized version of the film, donating a portion of the proceeds to the Jackie Robinson Foundation, a charity that benefits education for gifted students.
