Flipside's location is in a private camp area in the wooded, grassy Texas Hill Country, unlike the extremely flat, very dusty dried lake bed in Black Rock Desert where Burning Man is held.
FLIP originated a pocket edition in the United Kingdom, named Flipside, held at Snape Maltings.
The next Flipside Collective project is a collaboration between Allister Gall and Dan Paolantonio, which taking inspiration from Julio García Espinosa, is entitled 'Imperfect Cinema.'
He was also credited in Bobby Rydell and Chubby Checker's song "Jingle Bells Imitations", which was the flipside of their Jingle Bell Rock record.

Besides Todd Taylor and Sean Carswell, former Flipside writers Donofthedead, Jimmy Alvarado, Designated Dale, Kat Jetson, The Rhythm Chicken, Jessica T., Nardwuar the Human Serviette, and Rich Mackin all wrote for the premier issue.
After signing with Mutant Pop and releasing a series of singles and albums, more buzz came by way of positive coverage from every major underground punk publication including Flipside, Punk Planet, The Probe, Jersey Beat, and maximumrocknroll.
