Eligibility for membership is extended to employees of Little Rock Air Force Base, Camp Pike, Camp Robinson, Fort Chaffee, the State of Arkansas, federal employees in Arkansas and over 500 other select employee groups.
Fort Chaffee, located just outside of Fort Smith (Sebastian County) and Barling (Sebastian County) on Arkansas Highway 22, has served the United States as an army training camp, a prisoner of war camp, and a refugee camp.
Fort Chaffee has been used as a set for various movies, including the movie A Soldier's Story in 1984, Biloxi Blues in 1988, and The Tuskegee Airmen in 1995.
After basic training at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, Sauer joined the occupying army in Baumholder, Germany (December 1953 to June 1955) as Private First Class in the US Army Corps of Engineers.
