He played for K.S.V. Roeselare in the Belgian First Division, as well as various other Belgian clubs, including FCN Sint-Niklaas, Germinal Beerschot, R.A.A. Louviéroise, K.F.C. Eendracht Zele, K.M.S.K. Deinze and K.A.A. Gent .
Since he played for South Korean side Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in 2003, Cadu has played for many foreign clubs including Germinal Beerschot in Belgium, União Leiria in Portugal, Hatta Club in the U.A.E. and Bnei Sakhnin FC in Israel.
Partly because of his strong performances for the young Red Devils, he attracted the interest of some Belgian top-clubs, including Club Brugge, Germinal Beerschot and Gent.
Bolat started the last seven games of the season and kept five clean sheets, letting in only 2 goals, one in a 3–1 win against Germinal Beerschot and another in a 4–1 win against KV Mechelen.
His brother, François Kompany currently plays for Sint-Niklaas, having previously had spells at Germinal Beerschot and Macclesfield Town.
