The premise of the character was to mock children's television presenters at the time, many who had puppet sidekicks - Larry was loosely based, and named after, BBC Saturday morning show Going Live's puppet Gordon the Gopher.
The format was very similar to Going Live!, with imported cartoons (Rude Dog and the Dweebs, The Jetsons and Defenders of the Earth) punctuating items, such as games, music performances and interviews.
