The oldies format lasted until KOOJ began airing a loop of "Hair of the Dog" by Nazareth and "Rock You Like a Hurricane" by the Scorpions on October 7, 2002—two days after much of the station's coverage area was hit by Hurricane Lili.
The "Satori in Paris" single features live versions of "Double Dare" and "Hair of the Dog" not recorded at the same gigs from the album, the poster being a montage of the band's history on stage and beyond.
In November 2004, Gardner took part in the National Novel Writing Month, producing the fantasy novel Mirkin Topp and the Hair of the Dog.
