After a short stay in Austria, however, Richelieu joined the counter-revolutionary émigré army of Louis XVI's cousin, the Prince de Condé, which was headquartered in the German frontier town of Coblenz.
In the church is the grand marble tomb of Henry II de Bourbon, prince de Condé (1588–1646), designed by the illustrious sculptor Gilles Guérin.
After initially being awarded in 1616 by the head of the main branch of the Bourbon-Conde family, Henry II de Bourbon, prince de Condé, to his son Armand of Bourbon, it remained in the Armand line until its extinction in 1685, when it was passed along with the entirety of Armand's estate to his younger brother, François Louis de Bourbon.
On 25 October 1611 it was revealed that the mother of Éléonore and her sister in law Charlotte-Marguerite de Montmorency, wife of Henri II de Bourbon, would travel to The Hague.
He afterwards served under his elder half-brother, Antoine, marshal de Gramont, and the prince de Condé.
