Aubrey John Kempner (22 September 1880, Greater London, England – 18 November 1973, Boulder, Colorado) was an English-born American mathematician, known for the Kempner function and the Kempner series.

From 1950 he also taught at the Colorado School of Medicine and at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder.
The company was founded in 1843 by Samuel May Williams and passed through a series of owners until its purchase in 1907 the I. H. Kempner family of Galveston.
