Williams eventually started wrestling in the independent scene with OVW, MLW, & IWA Mid South.
He wrestled only five matches with the promotion before making his IWA: Mid South singles debut in a loss against Egotistico Fantastico (The night prior to this match, Quick made his official debut in a six-man tag team match with Christin Able and Sami Callihan versus Billy Roc, Sabian, and Jimmy Olsen).
In 2002 IWA Mid-South would once again move its base to Clarksville, Indiana following a disagreement with the landlord of the Charlestown building over rent.
Since returning in November 2009, IWA-Mid South has run in Addison, Illinois, Bellevue, Illinois and Litchfield, Illinois.
