Menelas Pangalos commenced his scientific career with an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, London and a subsequent Ph.D. in Neurochemistry from the Institute of Neurology, London.
He studied optical design at the Imperial College of Science and Technology, under eminent optical designer and theoretician Alexander Eugen Conrady, and earned a Masters degree in Optical Design.
