Other roles were in 23 Paces to Baker Street (1956), Dangerous Moonlight (1941), Swiss Family Robinson (1960), and I Was Monty's Double (1958), as well as the comedies A French Mistress (1960), The Ladykillers (1955), The Man in the White Suit (1951), The Court Jester (1955), Indiscreet (1958) and I Believe in You (1952).
He also played Monsieur Ernest LeClerc in the sixth series of 'Allo 'Allo!, and had a supporting role in a remake of Indiscreet (1988) and a new BBC version of a Lord Peter Wimsey story.
As an MP, Proctor forced the resignation of Solicitor-General Andy Scott in 1998 when, on a flight from Ottawa to Saint John, New Brunswick, he overheard an indiscreet conversation between Scott and a political ally discussing the inquiry into the Royal Canadian Mounted Police's handling of protesters at the Vancouver Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting.
He was criticised for embellishing the facts in the interests of the narrative, and was met with hostility by General Sir Thomas Blamey for his "irregular methods and indiscreet utterances" during WWII.
In 2011 the school received media attention when a local newspaper called the Billericay Gazette printed indiscreet Twitter comments made by Charlotte Berry who was a Deputy Headteacher at the school.
