As a film editor, he is best known for collaborations with film director Spike Lee, editing some of Lee's best known films including Do the Right Thing (1989), Malcolm X (1992), He Got Game (1998), 25th Hour (2002) and Inside Man (2006).
Hodge cultivated his writing skills for extended music scoring and film music while understudying with Grammy-nominated composer Terence Blanchard, where he also received on the job training while working as an instrumentalist on many of Blanchard’s films including She Hate Me, Waist Deep, and Inside Man.
Inside Man was Universal's first DCP commercial release, and, in addition to 35mm film distribution, was delivered via hard drive to 20 theatres in the United States along with two trailers.
In the 2006 film, Inside Man, bank robbers foil police attempts to eavesdrop by playing an Enver Hoxha speech near surveillance devices.
