An 8.5-mile segment of U.S. Route 90 in San Antonio, from Interstate 410 to Interstate 35, has been designated the Cleto Rodriguez Freeway in his honor.
The school opened with 26 students on its original site along East Avenue (now Interstate 35) on the then northern outskirts of Austin, Texas.
The store serves around 600 people a day and is a popular stop for travelers along Interstate 35.

The highway reaches an interchange with Airport Boulevard south of the Highland Mall and becomes a divided highway again as it comes to a large interchange with I-35/US 290.
The Alamo Regional Mobility Authority (RMA) is currently conducting a supplemental environmental assessment on the entire corridor from Lockhill-Selma Road to I-35, emphasizing the segment that has not been constructed.
