Kanfanar lies at the interchange of the Istrian Y expressway/motorway B8 and A9, as well as on the Divača - Pula railway, and was formerly the junction of a branchline to Rovinj.
The municipality is crossed by the arterial roads that connect the Istrian region with the rest of Croatia - the Istrian Y and the tunnel of Učka.
