The original recordings on Cydeways were handled by J-Swift, L.A. Jay & Slimkid3, J Dilla (known then as Jay Dee) and Fatlip.
Successive Dabrye projects included 2004's 'Game Over' single, which featured MC work by Jay Dee and Phat Kat – the single was a precursor to the second Dabrye full-length Two/Three, which includes other notable underground figures like MF DOOM, Beans, Vast Aire, and Big Tone, and features art by France's WK Interact.

Two late founding members of the group (Baatin, J Dilla) will appear posthumously as main artists of the album alongside T3 and Elzhi, and Illa J, J Dilla's younger brother, is also featured on the album, making it the first Slum Village LP to feature all five members.
Guest appearances include Brick & Lace, Kardinal Offishall, Saukrates and Lindo P. The album contains productions from Oh No, The 2 Swift Household, Kardinal Offishall, DJ Kemo, Buddah Brothas, Tone Mason, Saukrates, P. Cauz and J Dilla.
The album features production from the likes of J Dilla, Oh No and Rich Kidd, and includes guest appearances from Brick & Lace, Kardinal Offishall, Saukrates, Jeru the Damaja and more.
Soundvision featured production from Magnif, J Dilla and Madlib and guest appearances from Dilla, Melanie Rutherford, Phat Kat, Big Tone, P.Dot, SelfSays and Diverse.
Former member J Dilla died on February 10, 2006 after being diagnosed with TTP and Lupus.
In 2007 he released an album called The War LP which included solo instrumentals as well as new production for Invincible, Tiombe Lockhart, TaRaach, and the late J Dilla.
As the title suggests Welcome 2 Detroit is a showcase of the talent from J Dilla's hometown, introducing a pre-Slum Village Elzhi on the song "Come Get It", and making room for his longtime 1st Down partner Phat Kat on the appropriately titled "Featuring Phat Kat".
